Stakeholder meetings are an important part of the RefugeesWellSchool project. The Norwegian team held their national stakeholder meeting in October 2021. Members of the national stakeholder committee in Norway represent students with a migration background and different actors of the educational system: teachers, principals, the Norwegian Directorate for Education and Training and the Directorate for Higher Education and Skills. Members of the Norwegian RefugeesWellSchool team presented preliminary results from the project in general and addressed some specific concerns in the Norwegian context. The stakeholders became particularly interested in questions concerning newcomer refugee and migrant students’ possibilities to participate and be involved in decisions about themselves and their situations. In addition, a discussion arose about the advantages and disadvantages of the organization of introductory teaching to newcomer minority language students in separate groups/classes, with limited interaction with the general school environment. The stakeholders encouraged the Norwegian team to target dissemination from the project to actors and agencies responsible for development and implementation of national guidelines with regard to how the reception of newcomer minority language students is organized.
