Finnish RWS researchers, Raija-Leena Punamäki and Kirsi Peltonen participated in the 2nd International Symposium on Safety and Security Research, on 10th September 2020. Researchers from different fields of psychology in Finland got together on Zoom to discuss this year’s topic, Global Disruptions and Everyday Experiences. Raija-Leena and Kirsi talked about the RWS psychosocial interventions, and how they enhance sense of security among traumatized adolescents. As part of the symposia, they also discussed psychological phenomena and interventions in major disasters and crises, individual and collective memory in disasters, and experiences of psychological care among refugee children with other researchers and the audience.
