On September 16th at 1pm, Anne Sofie Børsch will defend her PhD, entitle ”Care in classrooms for newcomers: a comparative ethnographic case study of social practices to support learners’ well-being in two classrooms for newly arrived refugee and immigrant adolescents in Denmark”.
Anne Sofie’s PhD thesis examines the role of schools in supporting the psychosocial well-being of newcomer refugee and immigrant adolescents in Denmark. Schools are increasingly cited as promising spaces for supporting the well-being of refugee and immigrant learners, but little is known about how such efforts are shaped by particular school contexts. Anne Sofie has been part of the RefugeesWellSchool-team, as also both her promotors, Prof. dr. Morten Skovdal and Prof. dr. Signe Smith Jervelund, University of Copenhagen.
