The UK team has been busy spreading the word of RefugeesWellSchool and telling the public about preliminary findings. In July 2019, RWS UK researcher Emma Soye presented her doctoral research as part of a symposium on migration and wellbeing at the Centre for Innovation and Research in Wellbeing (CIRW), University of Sussex. The symposium was organised by RWS UK researcher Charles Watters with the support of Anna Ridgewell at the CIRW. Emma had a fruitful discussion with the audience and other presenters.

In 2020, the RWS team has taken public dissemination of their work online. Emma Soye has presented on the project and her doctoral research over Zoom or Microsoft Teams, at seminars or events hosted by St Mary’s University, King’s College London, and the University of Sussex. Emma talked about the process of conducting qualitative research in UK schools, including participant observation and interviews, in order to contextualise the impact of the RWS interventions on young people’s peer relationships. While presenting online was a strange experience at first, she quickly got used to the luxuries of presenting from home in her comfiest socks!
